OH—Cohort Meeting

We welcome you to join a 2N “Cohort”—a gathering of local foster families who meet monthly for discussions (and food!), with supervised kids’ activities in an adjacent room. The 2N Family Support Specialist (FSS) facilitates these informal meetings to share what’s happening in your lives, and offering their wisdom to each other. The Cohort soon becomes its own little community, supporting each other and addressing shared needs. 

And!!!! Each 2N Cohort is ensconced in a welcoming “Host Community” (HC) such as a synagogue, church or nonsectarian organization. (Cohort families are not usually members of the HC, nor necessarily of that culture). The meetings are held on the HC’s premises and their wider membership volunteers their professional expertise, as well as day-to-day support, to the foster families. Need speech therapy? An organizer to help you prepare for a child’s arrival?  Someone to sit with an elderly parent so you can have time with your kids?) Members of the HC are there for you!
