Just as every child needs a family, every family needs a community. 2N gives communities the opportunity to strengthen and support foster families so that vulnerable kids can have the stability they need to thrive.
As a 2N Host Community, you will see every generation of your membership together, bringing their talents, skills and capacities to foster families, creating a culture of shared responsibility for kids in the system, and growing deep relationships of shared purpose.

Here's what 2N provides
-
On-boarding and training to become a Host Community
-
Network of support with all Host Communities
-
Monthly Zoom check-ins with the 2N National Coordinator and HC Leads
-
One-on-one meetings as needed
-
Volunteer training on trauma-informed care
-
Jewish materials to engage your member volunteers (if a Jewish HC)
-
Insurance certificate with you added as additional insured
I am so proud that my synagogue is a 2N Host Community—and my rabbi brags about it all the time!

2N Kids' Cohort has fun with a song leader
Here’s what you need
-
An awesome volunteer (or 2!) to be the Host Community Lead
-
Other Lead volunteers to hold the Cohort meetings and for outreach
-
Loving community members who become the Care Collective to:
-
Welcome, feed families and build relationships with everyone at the Cohort gathering
-
Meet needs as they emerge for individual kids and families (tutoring, errands, navigating school systems and other bureaucracies, therapies...)
-
-
Two spaces (one for parents’ Cohort, one for kids’ Cohort) for monthly gatherings
I love everything about being a rabbi—and 2N is the best part of it all!

I love the Jewish education component—what we learn has such immediate and meaningful implications!
Any Host Community can leverage its cultural abundance to educate and inspire their members to step up for foster families.
Engaging with foster kids and families becomes a joyful and mutually enriching experience.
